I'm extremely guilty of this too. But I just started posting whatever I wanted to, so it's not much of a problem anymore.

SLOG Logs [001]
So I was checking out other SLOGs, and I think I figured out what was going through the minds of 90% of the class (who actually posted a SLOG entry). And maybe I'll draw more of these over the semester-- it all depends on how lazy and unmotivated I am.

A compiled <li> of information!
Finally got around to updating my glossary as I was working on the thing. It's relatively useless since we have course notes, but I think it's a pretty comprehensive list.
I'll track the changes I make today under the 'read more' or whatever you want to call it here.

Paper Folding Creases
In class, we had the exercise involving a strip of paper, folded left to right, in which we were required to predict the upcoming patters. My sister and I made note of a few observations when we were making a few test cases:
- After n folds, there were 2n-1 creases.
- The middle crease always pointed downwards.
- If we folded again, there would be an upward crease to the left of a previous crease, and a downward crease to the right.

SLOGs are being posted...
...and I already see some SLOGs with pretty good names. And chances are, if they have a cool name, they're run by cool people. People with content that I might want to read. If I wasn't lazy, I'd check out everyone's SLOG, but that's too bad. Maybe I'll check them out on some day where I have motivation. But for now, I'll just periodically update this with a list of names so I can just randomly see what other (cool) people are doing.
On further inspection, maybe I should have done a "Hello world!" joke as well. Still no post of my glossary of terms and that sort of jazz in sight.

This SLOG & First Impressions
This whole concept of a 'SLOG' seems pretty strange, but interesting to me. I think, so far, the hardest part was coming up with a name. So I decided to look up CS puns and, to my dismay, byte-me.blogspot.com was taken. So I went through my CSC148 material and found pep8.
One of the most annoying parts of CSC148 assignments was runstyle.py and pep8, since I am definitely not good at communication, consistent or good naming conventions, etc. As a result, I decided to go with peph8. (I wonder if that was a violation of "Don't expect your audience to read leet" or not.)
As for CSC165... For someone who's extremely horrible with deciphering ambiguous statements, much less getting my own messages across, it seems pretty useful. The whole symbols thing is slightly confusing, but I can probably manage. It's pretty intimidating, but I think I could pull through. I'm sort of reminded of puzzle solving, which is always good. And critical thinking seems pretty important.
Eventually, I'll redesign this SLOG so it doesn't look like a piece of trash that I just picked at default. I'll also probably make some sort of glossary for myself, or terms list... so I don't have to Google terms and symbols every time I try to do something.
